## What guests say (Staylist AI overview of recent reviews)
Opposite the Ichino-yu and Yanagi-yu baths, Matsuya is a traditional inn kept in the old style — attendants explain each dinner course, futons appear and vanish while you eat, and the crab and seafood are delicious. The building is genuinely old — corridors cool by fan rather than AC, and stairs matter; but guests say the age reads as charm, not neglect, in a rare surviving style.
