## What guests say (Staylist AI overview of recent reviews)
A centuries-old atmosphere deep in Yunishigawa — guests enter to a drum ceremony and cross a surreal wooden bridge to dinner — Honke Bankyu offers superb views from its baths and seasonal local-ingredient dinners. The antique-house experience earns best-ever ratings from most, yet one guest reports uninterested staff and no luggage help over many stairs, and the drive from Tokyo runs long.
- Rooms: Antique wood rooms kept spotlessly.
- Service: Warm welcomes for most; one poor report.
- Location: Remote Yunishigawa; a long drive from Tokyo.
- Food: Must-try seasonal local dinners, in honest reports.
- Facilities: Amazing baths with superb views, per the write-ups.
- Noise: A very quiet little onsen town.
