The LaSalle Chicago, Autograph Collection is a fancy, upscale hotel in the south loop beside the Federal Reserve and Board of Trade — gorgeous interiors, an excellent location near Union Station, patient attentive desk staff, a 24-hour convenience store across the street, and unquestionably one of Chicago's best per fans. But several honest complaints: the advertised spa is not the hotel's and needs reservations, breakfast included needs clearer explanation, no water was stocked in one room, housekeeping left a rag on the nightstand at check-in and skipped a day's cleaning while 4pm turndown staff entered very fast — lock your door. Parking and breakfast are both expensive.
