Hotel New Otani Tokyo Garden Tower is a very nice always-perfect stay — an established Japanese hotel near Akasaka-mitsuke and metro stations with easy tourist-friendly transport, free self-parking, a very nice garden, clean rooms that one guest rated above a twice-as-expensive international brand, better views and access than the main building, plenty of restaurants nearby, and even a viral ice-cream shop. Caveats though: the lobby is hard to find after dark — cross the bridge past the showroom and the desk is on the sixth floor — and Garden Tower facilities and service sit a notch below the main building.
