On a fantastic downtown spot — cable cars visible at the entrance, BART and metro right there — Axiom Hotel is a nice convenient stay: very good service, smooth check-in and checkout, friendly staff, good decor, clean rooms, key-card lifts at night and a dead-quiet courtyard-facing room option. Cautions: small rooms, cable-car noise on street-facing sides, no breakfast, few public facilities, no on-site parking and a rougher late-night street scene nearby.
