“Oakland's bayside stay”
By the yacht marina with nice water views — an outlet mall ten minutes' drive — Best Western Plus Bayside Hotel is a great always-nice stay: very spacious clean rooms, comfortable beds, approachable friendly staff, a named star Luis praised for guest-first service, a convenient location and a recommended pick. Cautions: too-dim room lighting, heating that blew cold on a freezing first night until engineering fixed it, a hard-to-use toilet, a marina-view surcharge declined, post-Christmas outlet queues and one less-friendly server.
