On a yacht-lined leisure island — hundreds of boats for strolls and runs — Best Western Plus Island Palms Hotel & Marina is a great-view stay for many: an excellent location, a sea view from the window, warm welcoming nice staff, good amenities and a delicious good meal at the onsite Blue restaurant. Dissents though: a three-star-is-what-you-get verdict, a bare-for-the-rate room with run-out body wash, no toothbrush or slippers, dim lights and a dead fan, plus a strange smell and hair on the floor and a mouldy whiff needing airing for one.
