Crowne Plaza Beijing SUN Palace by IHG is a satisfying established stay — an older five-star with decent hardware, an excellent room, very caring staff including a warm thoughtful receptionist Xie Yunan, a good Yunnan restaurant and a restaurant highlight in general — a rich breakfast where staff seat you and ask your coffee, a nice pool, and a great convenient location. Caveats though: the gym equipment is aging, and a seventh-floor window did not face directly outward.
