In a gritty-but-walkable central SoMa spot, San Francisco Proper Hotel, a Member of Design Hotels, is a wonderful repeat stay: a beautiful design building, a perfect comfortable room, excellent fun helpful amazing staff, a delicious breakfast, a good basement gym and a loved rooftop bar. Cautions though: many homeless people around the area — noted but not bothering most — and a hundred-ten one-night valet fee.
