“Wearstler Santa Monica, crowded lobby”
Santa Monica Proper is a Kelly Wearstler-designed hotel steps from the beach — flawless materials and detail, a wonderful room and service experience for many, pet-super friendliness, celebrity sightings nearby, and photogenic spaces everywhere. Critics say the design dazzles mostly in the public areas and restaurants (dine rather than sleep), rooms run very small for the rate, one stay felt express-hotel quality versus the listing, and the lobby coffee area packs with socializing locals by late morning.
