The Flat Iron Hotel, a Member of Design Hotels, is a museum-like historic Asheville stay with thoughtful artful fixtures — very clean well-done rooms with fantastic shower pressure, top-notch restaurants and bars, a great rooftop coffee and happy hour with views, an ideal steps-from-dining location, and routinely superb staff (Nina and Angela named). A detailed dissent though: arriving after a seven-hour drive at check-in time found the room unready with a text-back promise that stretched an hour, the desk offered no sightseeing suggestions, and the coffee was instant.
