Gorgeous George by Design Hotels is a fantastic cool stay — a beautiful Cape Town boutique with large spacious stylishly-industrial well-designed rooms, fab ten-out-of-ten friendly courteous staff, creative top-notch dining, good security, a spectacular rooftop restaurant and bar — excellent breakfast choices, amazing cocktails and a must-try French onion soup — with bartender London bringing great energy, and a central spot close to all the sights. Caveats though: the pedestrian street means taxis cannot drop at the door — a late-night arrival felt uneasy — and the obscure-glass bathroom doors strike some as awkward.
