DoubleTree by Hilton Charleston Mount Pleasant is a clean near-beach stay — a good pool amenity, a location minutes from good restaurants, and somewhat-decent staff. Caveats though: a tub drained so slowly that showers meant ankle-deep standing water, room service skipped a day (desk towels without a cleaning offer), a guest had to clean the AC vent filters themselves, a digital key never worked and the door lock died needing a battery swap, the onsite restaurant was closed and the complementary breakfast cost fifteen dollars — called false advertising — crumbs dotted floors and elevators, and the rate felt high for the room quality.
