“Des Moines' hour”
Embassy Suites by Hilton des Moines Downtown is a clean great-location stay — a ten-of-ten breakfast and happy hour that alone earns bookings, kind accommodating valet, front-desk and cleaning staff, a friendly breakfast manager, plenty of parking in the large garage opposite, easy walking to the Arboretum event, and excellent teamwork even when full. Caveats though: a dissent found the evening snacks wanting — trail mix, chips and salsa, vegetables and dip — and the buffet lukewarm unless you ordered a made-to-order omelet; room 709's towel bar had pulled partly off the wall.
