A five-stay favourite San Francisco condo-hotel steps from Fisherman's Wharf with good restaurants and a standout Chinese one downstairs, The Fairmont Heritage Place Ghirardelli Square offers tons of space, well-appointed rooms with extremely comfortable beds, dog beds for four-legged guests, hospitable staff who go out of their way, excellent service and a convenient location. Issues though: strong old-wood smell with unopenable windows, a missing booking and a lost-item retrieval that tested patience, worn tableware, street noise, tourist crowds and an AC failure that was fully compensated.
