Hotel d'Allèves is a very clean good-value stay — a central Geneva spot about two minutes from the lake and within walking distance of the station, the jet, the flower clock and the core sights, a good-size room with a comfortable bed and tile floor, a very good rich breakfast, great staff kindness especially the afternoon desk pair, tasteful lobby paintings, and a free Geneva transport card or day pass supplied. Caveats though: the facilities are fairly simple for the rate — no gym — the building and whole street could use renovation, and works were running on the street at the time.
