“Gounod's fresh reno, one bad assignment”
Hotel Gounod Fully Renovated is a small, cozy Nice hotel midway between the station and the sea — everything new and pleasant, comfortable beds, nice cosmetics, a great breakfast with made-to-order hot dishes and good omelettes, and wonderfully attentive staff who even fixed a TV phone-connection issue and surprised guests with a fruit platter and champagne. Notes: rooms are small and dim at night, parking is paid, and one guest reports being given an accessible room at check-in — squat-only shower, cold water — with a refused refund and rude staff.
