Hotel Tentrem Semarang is a newer city-center Semarang hotel — comfortable spacious bright rooms, a signature fragrance, a small mall attached, smooth check-in, free local teas, a big clean pool (a pity it closes at eight), an 'all of Semarang's cuisine' breakfast buffet eaten beside the pool where staff remembered preferences by day two, and an excellent Cantonese restaurant Xia Gong at reasonable rates. Staff earned tens across the board and beautifully decorated a room for Father's Day.
