“Historic Lisbon classic, aging gracefully”
Hotel Avenida Palace is a historic Lisbon grand hotel beside Rossio station — an excellent, walkable location near shops and pastries that earns steady praise. Rooms are big and comfortable, staff are kind and attentive (they warmly took up one guest's taxi-overcharge complaint, though the promised follow-up never arrived), and the breakfast is fantastic with fresh fruit, juices and pastries. The clear trade-off is age: several call the property dated or in need of renovation, one found the air-conditioning noise terrible, and a bathroom lacked a hairdryer socket. Charm remains strong regardless.
