“Merced's Yosemite stop”
Hilton Garden Inn Merced is a super new great stay — a very clean highway-side hotel that works as a Yosemite stopover, a huge new room, a quiet AC unit, selective TV channels, quality towels, McDonald's and Starbucks opposite, an order-style breakfast chargeable to the room, and an incredibly-nice efficient front desk in Jude. Caveats though: the location is remote, breakfast is not buffet-style and service was slow enough that one guest fetched a waitress, the outdoor pool was poorly maintained and a little dirty, the bathroom exhaust sounded like a tank with no switch, and off-season rates felt steep.
