“Viera's split verdict”
Homewood Suites by Hilton Viera Melbourne is a good-location weekend stay with serious caveats — an awesome pre-cruise stop under renovation with rooms getting new carpet, a nicely laid-out room with plenty of towels, a complimentary breakfast with a decent spread, quiet even in an adjoining room, and great staff. Caveats though: a severe pan says the property is poorly maintained — floors peeling, cracked and held with duct tape that was noisy to walk on at night, lights not working, and hair left in the bathroom and shower from a previous guest — with the chain reportedly aware of the flooring for a year; a self-serve draft beer wall was broken too.
