“Dunfermline's holiday inn”
A quiet base for exploring the area — a McDonald's and supermarket across the road — Holiday Inn Express Dunfermline by IHG is a fairly-ok highly-recommended stay: great clean comfortable rooms with good bedding and bathroom, a fantastic basic breakfast, extremely friendly helpful staff, a lobby coffee machine and lovely natural surrounds. Cautions: not in Edinburgh, a fifteen-minute station walk with awkward steps, forty-minute trains and sparse Sunday and evening service, plus breakfast items that could be better.
