“Checkpoint Charlie flats, service-lite”
Wilde Aparthotels Berlin Checkpoint Charlie offers spacious, modern, clean apartments one minute from Checkpoint Charlie — kitchenettes with compatible coffee machines, big balcony rooms and a great gluten-free Indian restaurant next door. But the service is thin: late arrivals fetch keys from a rear building, an unprepared sofa bed and towel shortage greeted one paid triple, shared laundry is a single machine closing at 10pm, a front desk is a hallway seat, road-facing rooms were loud for three nights, balconies can catch constant curry-onion smells, there is no real AC (a portable unit was provided), no bar or restaurant exists despite advertising, and one guest faced a stiff late-checkout charge. Beds were called very uncomfortable once.
