“Desolation's Tahoe townhome”
Desolation Hotel is an incredible loved stay — a gem of a little South Lake Tahoe property different from the motels and cabins: extremely well-done rooms, deck, pool, hot tub, restaurant and small gym, a well-equipped super comfy townhouse with a kitchenette, two private balconies, two fireplaces, outdoor heating, heated bathroom floors, an in-garage personal EV charger, a loved balcony tub and an upright jetted bath, genuinely-welcomed dogs, and friendly courteous staff. Caveats though: the popular restaurant's noise and after-hours cleanup can reach the rooms, onsite parking is given over to paid EV charging leaving signed street spots, the private beach access is not dog-friendly, and one guest bruised an arm on the beloved balcony tub.
