“Dulles-side Hampton, mixed nights”

Hampton Inn & Suites Herndon-Reston is a modern, clean airport base close to Dulles with free parking, a noon checkout, a pool and a shuttle covering the airport and local restaurants — staff are exceptionally nice and helpful, and the breakfast usually earns praise for fresh fruit and good potatoes. One severe stay stands out: a trickling shower, only three towels, a dead USB charger, lights that would not dim fully, a chemical off-gassing smell causing a headache and packaged-looking breakfast — the guest's worst Hampton. Other notes: the tub could be cleaner and a sugar-free cereal was requested.

Rooms: Clean rooms; one stay had many faults.
Service: Exceptionally nice and helpful staff each day.
Location: Close to Dulles with airport shuttles.
Food: A generally good breakfast; one found it packaged.
Facilities: A nice pool and a useful local shuttle.
