Hyatt Regency Bali is a favourite for its magnificent gardens and easy rhythm — pool, beach, meals, lounging — wrapped in a modern design that keeps clear Balinese character. Though long open, it is so well maintained it never feels dated, and housekeeping is spotless; staff are attentive, thoughtful and knowledgeable, two restaurants serve good food, and the east-facing beach gives lovely sunrises. The main caveat is size: rooms and especially bathrooms run small and slightly cramped. Otherwise guests adore it.
