Grand Hyatt Istanbul is a very nice lovely stay — a great location five minutes from the airport-bus stop and seven or eight to Taksim Square, security screening at the door, a neighbouring mosque muffled by the InterContinental for good sleep, an early check-in granted on a morning arrival, a park and café chain opposite, a restaurant and pool, a free two-p.m. late checkout, and an upgrade to a club room after a booking-level mix-up. Caveats though: housekeeping left bedding unchanged across three nights, toiletries are not provided though slippers are, one desk agent handled the room swap with a can't-do attitude, and guests should confirm the room matches the booked floor.
