Hyatt Regency Qingdao is a satisfying family stay for most — a clean room, a delicious breakfast with a thoughtfully-made cappuccino, a sliver of sea view even from non-sea-facing rooms, a clean pool with a shallow area for kids, a direct link to the beach with a foot-rinse point at the entrance, a beautiful lawn, polite ready-to-help staff and an excellent desk experience for some; a family favorite. Caveats though: a dissenting guest found the front desk and concierge lacking — unsure of holiday breakfast hours, no guidance to elevators, no luggage help, and confusion over a package's first-day free minibar — plus a too-small bathroom counter.
