InterContinental Barcelona is a great most-stunning stay — a hotel one guest picked for the super breakfast alone, with ham freedom and freshly-squeezed juice, rooms genuinely big versus most European hotels with excellent bedding and strong air conditioning, a grand stylish lobby, a phenomenal rooftop view with an open-air bar, friendly understanding staff who explain everything in detail, the Catalonia museum next door, and mini-marts around; about thirty minutes from the airport which one guest found helpful for pickpocket peace of mind. Caveats though: the pool is sadly small even for children, and it sits slightly outside the old town.
