Kempinski Hotel Chengdu is a comfortable luxurious stay — easy to reach from Tianfu airport on the local subway and well placed for both Shuangliu airport and downtown, well-sized luxurious clean rooms, complete facilities, notably-good toiletries including a rare bamboo toothbrush, fast room delivery, a warm heartfelt-smiling doorman who carried luggage enthusiastically, desk agent Chiron's good service, high floors, a comfortable bed, and plenty of good food nearby. Caveats though: the humid Chengdu air left one room feeling not-quite fresh.
