The Corner Hotel is a clean, nicely-decorated Barcelona hotel in a safe neighborhood — good-smelling rooms, daily cleaning with a warm gift, free lobby lemonade, card-access floors, a rooftop pool and bar (closed in winter), warm English-speaking staff, and Casa Milà and Casa Batlló close by; the cathedral is a ten-minute taxi. Two serious complaints: a booked balcony room arrived with no balcony at midnight — no swap until the next day and no rate refund, only drinks and breakfast — and a twin-bed booking turned into a runaround where staff refused written confirmation and one agent ended the conversation by declaring their shift over.
