“Maquia's Sintra calm”
Quinta DA Maquia is an excellent most-wonderful stay — a gorgeous quiet property that makes a great Sintra base, about fifteen minutes' walk to the train station where the tourist bus reaches the main attractions, a clean new spacious room with slippers, staff who carry bags to the villa rooms, a very good-quality breakfast, delicious dinners of Portuguese cuisine, and a lovely pool to unwind beside. Caveats though: breakfast starts late at eight a.m., and one guest wished for an in-room water heater.
