Far nicer than expected for many, Hotel Dom Henrique - Downtown offers: a comfy clean room, unmatched city views and a good Douro glimpse, an excellent many-choice tasty breakfast, superb positioning, friendly desk staff and a recommend-return feel. Dissents though: a severe service report — black-faced reception and indifferent porters, a terrace room with shabby chairs, a very basic bathroom judged a safety hazard with no mat or grab rails, bottled water that stopped on day two and a self-proclaimed four-star verdict.
