“Historic Barcelona elegance, housekeeping quirks”
Hotel El Palace Barcelona is a beloved historic property with exquisite, tasteful room decor — comfortable beds and a memorable sea-rock-like anti-slip shower floor — a very good bar and restaurant, a walkable spot near Casa Batlló and good cafés, and thoughtful service: two rooms were connected for a family, honeymoon champagne waited, and housekeeping returned a guest's stored ice cream elaborately arranged. One stay flags real issues, though: sheets and covers carried stains and felt damp without ventilation, housekeeping entered during brief outings prompting a do-not-disturb habit, and linens were not changed on request.
