Fauchon Hotel Kyoto is an excellent truly great find — a lovely hotel with beautiful rooms and decor, clean silent quarters, a good location, lovely snacks and tea in the minibar, a great room and view, warm welcoming staff who made a thirtieth anniversary special and even went out of their way when medical attention was needed, handy transport links, and full marks for service, ambiance, location and facilities; very suitable for a vacation. Caveats though: the breakfast options could be better and the coffee was poor.
