Badia di Pomaio is a gorgeously-restored fifteenth-century monastery in the hills above Arezzo — spacious well-appointed rooms with luxurious beds, lovely magnificent gardens, a stunning pool, an estate farm garden olive oil and honey, professional tailored cellar tastings, a generous chef's tasting menu (the dry-aged T-bone praised), and outstanding warm enthusiastic staff; two-nighters regretted not booking a week. Caveats though: it is remote, and late arrivals can miss dinner.
