The American Colony Hotel - Small Luxury Hotels of the World is an exceptional palace-meets-museum hotel — rich history, beautiful gardens, a fantastic back pool (though it closes at six), a wonderful suite with a terrace for three, an amazing courtyard breakfast, a lovely tree-nested restaurant with amazing dinners, retro-warm rooms with a big tub and steam bath, a free minibar, twice-daily tidying, a historian-guide arrangement, and very helpful staff; one guest calls it Jerusalem's best.
