“Khao Lak's family resort”
JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa is an excellent loved-by-families resort — very nice private rooms (third-floor picks; pool-access upgrades given), a gorgeous daily-cleaned pool, kids club fun, family and adults zones, a JW garden running course, good varied food (Japanese and Italian buffet nights; kids five and under free; the Thai restaurant's crab fried rice and tom yum shine), and wonderful smiling attentive staff who instantly swapped a first mold-smelling room. Caveats though: buffet versions can differ from à la carte, ground-floor pool rooms lack privacy and aren't needed for pool entry, and a waterfront restaurant was renovating.
