JW Marriott Hotel Tashkent is a new, modern Tashkent hotel — clean well-equipped spacious rooms, a great fifth-floor spa with an infinity pool, a divine breakfast buffet, a heart-of-city location near a mall and a singing-fountain park, warm welcoming service with a late checkout granted, and wonderful staff (Miss Migina singled out). Two notes: cocktails come out tasteless and expensive — seemingly a citywide issue with limited alcohol choice — and a half-empty hotel led one guest to call the rate inflated versus Baku, Bangkok or Dubai.
