JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa is an amazing resort occupying its own island — a surreal non-daily-feel escape, very clean rooms, delicious food, cycling and full spa services on the island, a great fourth-floor restaurant comparable to city dining, a shuttle boat to Venice (mind the schedule — off-season gaps run an hour, and a crowded 10pm return left guests waiting thirty minutes), and warm professional staff. Two billing complaints: a two-meal package was charged an extra dinner at checkout, and another guest was double-charged — a same-surname similar-room-number mix-up they caught for ninety euros.
