Le Méridien Ile Maurice is a luxurious seaside resort where every room faces the ocean — beautiful grounds with nesting birds in the garden, several pools, free paddleboards and a bookable free snorkelling boat trip with attentive crew, photogenic sunsets, a rocky-but-swimmable beach, wonderful food, and outstanding polite staff; guests stayed three days taking both meals in-house happily. Two notes: it sits far from sights with no shops or restaurants outside, and one check-in took a full hour waiting in the lobby.
