“Okura Kyoto's perch”
Hotel Okura Kyoto is a great happy stay — an old-brand hotel with a direct metro link and a great convenient location about ten minutes' walk from the Sanjo shopping streets and their temples, a spacious generous room with good views, a comfortable bed, helpful good service, and a lovely breakfast buffet offering Western or Japanese — the western restaurant's window overlooks the Higashiyama hills. Caveats though: the pillows were too soft and the TV screen too small for one guest.
