“Rio's mengo palace”
Mengo Palace Hotel earns excellent-value quiet marks for many: a well-located convenient base, five-star-worthy amenities for the rate, helpful reception slips for a nice offsite gym across the road and a safe comfortable feel. Dissents though: a floor needing better sweeping, photos flatter than reality — a smaller-than-pictured room and a very old slow lift — plus twin beds pushed into a king whose topper wears unevenly.
