“Hotel Luxor's station-side Florence stay”
Hotel Luxor Florence is a good-value Florence hotel five minutes from the station — clean tidy rooms, lightning-fast wifi, enthusiastic nice staff with an always-staffed helpful desk, and a decent breakfast. The complaints: the station district feels rough after dark — a solo traveler advises avoiding the area, with train noise, thin walls and a snoring neighbor audible; a check-in reportedly asked the guest to write down their card number (not an authorization) and take city tax in cash only; very poor drainage; multi-night stays got bed-only tidying; a thin coverless dark 'quilt' and an AC stuck cold caused a chill; and the breakfast didn't match its photos.
