Chale Island Resort is called Kenya's best stay by some — a wonderful nature-ringed island resort with clean rooms and daily towel changes, amazing always-smiling staff, fun activities from gym to snorkelling and beachcombing, easy dinner reservations and loungers off-season, and a famed fresh-coconut treat. Caveats though: the island setting means you cannot easily leave mid-stay (a boat plus dirt-road drive), food and service rated good-but-not-outstanding once, and peak season could feel hectic.
