“Monteleone's Quarter split”
Hotel Monteleone is a gorgeous possibly-best-ever New Orleans stay — a great quiet-amid-bustle location for parades and bars, simple European-style rooms, friendly helpful accommodating staff, and an amazing valet moment from Earl Pickens in the garage. Caveats though: one guest found a dated small room with a tiny window and bathroom, a bathroom light that died and stayed dead, huge all-night mechanical noise outside (sleep came only from exhaustion), and a tiny sixteenth-floor pool.
