“Palafitte's lake rooms”
Hotel Palafitte is a wonderful unique stay — rooms built on piles right into the lake, where stepping from the bedroom straight into the water is incredible, sophisticated water-themed interiors, views of the lake and Alpine scenery from every angle, real privacy in the separate-buildings layout, food as expected, and incredibly attentive outstanding staff from cleaning crew to concierge; a long-remembered weekend that works with a dog too. Caveats though: one guest arrived after check-in time to a room neither ready nor clean, found the breakfast very poor, and noted individual spots could use a refresh.
