Pullman Tokyo Tamachi is a new, very convenient Tokyo hotel — a three-minute walk to the station and metro opposite, fifteen minutes to Ginza, quiet despite the adjacent railway thanks to good insulation, clean big-for-Japan rooms (a tennis theme delighted families), a supermarket, convenience store, izakayas and drugstores nearby, smooth check-in, and excellent service — a complimentary surprise touched a daughter. The complaints: no drop-off concierge — an unanswered phone meant carrying luggage to the second-floor desk alone; a monotonous, not-tasty breakfast; express-hotel hardware/software feel; and bad restaurants across the street.
