Canopy by Hilton Tempe Downtown is a comfortable newer stay for most — a college-town hotel in a clean safe area with plenty of restaurants where a solo woman felt fine walking by day, clean well-maintained rooms, a great fit, complimentary bike rides and a rooftop pool called the best parts, friendly helpful staff, live-music bars close by and Chase Field fifteen to twenty minutes away. Caveats though: a severe report from a guest who needed sleep says a promised quiet away-from-everything room landed beside a loud road and literally next to the elevator, with a late check-in; the air conditioner sometimes runs loud; and complimentary breakfast would complete the package.
