Regent Phu Quoc is an impeccable Phu Quoc resort — a reason to return to the island alone, with warm English-fluent staff who noticed a passport birthday and delivered cake, twice-daily cleaning and prompt minibar restocks, three free laundry items daily, a panoramic gym and pool on floors eight and ten, lush strollable grounds, a wide Rice Market breakfast with the best coffee (an overcooked crab pasta was remade instantly), Ocean Club and Oku dinners, free daily activities and a small-but-sufficient kids club. Caveats: one guest found breakfast merely average versus the Chinese palate and suggested Mandarin-speaking staff; and the island's sea and sand aren't top-tier — the resort's hardware and service carry the stay.
